Has anyone done this? I hear from a lot of people it really does work, and doesn't require any equipment. I was considering trying it. Or is it better to just use the gym some times a week.

Doing it involves working out between one and one and a half hours a day 6 days a week, and there's a diet to follow along with it, so yes, it does work if you do it. But any healthy diet with that much exercise will work. Having a system to follow can help with motivation and making sure you work all of your muscle groups with proper rest in between.
If you want to get cut up, it's great. If you want to add mass, you'll need to do some additional things/change it up a bit. Regardless, you'll see a nice improvement in your physique.
Shoot I don't know how I missed that thread. Thanks for advice though. I amn't skinny, but I amn't big enough to really tone down. It sounds like thats what most people did with it. So for someone 5'10 145 pounds, is it better to do weights and try to add mass? Or should I just mix it up like you said.
Start off doing about 3-4 weeks of P90X...then, when you do the arms, shoulders, chest workouts, move it to the gym and do the same routines, but with heavier weights. You can continue doing the cardio workouts at home. You can definitely pack on some mass with your frame...Im 5'11 and about 165, but Im still working on putting on plenty of mass. Also, diet is probably the most important thing. If you arent eating right, it doesnt matter how many hours of training you put into it.
I did a knock of this, "Insanity"...Eh...it's like some of the high impact cardio classes I've done at Telos, but I will say that you need to stretch, know your limitations and be careful... I've known a lot of people who get injured or whatever by trying to do every exercise, etc...Any exercise is better than no exercise, but you have to be committed and stick with it...But that's just one part of it, the other is what you eat/drink...
I was gonna try it but it looks like more for fat people ( no offense) The amount of calories you will be burning and the nutrition guide is really for losing weight and and getting ripped. so if you skinny looking to bulk p90x not for you if your fat or just need to lose some extra pounds i would try it
Sorry, but your assumption is wrong. If you are obese, or completely out of shape, P90X would be IMPOSSIBLE to do. The workout is legit. I was at 18% body fat when I started my 1st trial of P90X and the core workouts still kicked my ass. Each night is about 50 minutes of non-stop movement, a "Fat" person would have to start out on a lower workout program like Power90. And yes you can bulk on a P90X workout. The Nutrition Guide tells you that on page 2. There are multiple diet plans, some for burning and some for bulking. About 9 months ago when I started out on P90X I was 218 lbs. and slimmed down the first 3 months. I then changed to the bulking diet plan and just completed P90X INSANITY and now weight 220 lbs. even though I went from 18% Body Fat to 12% Body Fat.
used the wrong term i didnt mean obese super fat ass people i meant people who are just generally overweight and wanna lose the extra pounds. Maybe it could be used for bulking but theres better programs im sure for bulking than p90x thats really good for losing that much body fat in 9 months Im 12% on eatin pizza, burgers, hot cheetos , ice cream, wings, basically all fat food im a super ecto and thats why i wouldnt do p90x
12% on that kind of food, you have a gift my friend. Im sure if you did P90X and changed your diet, after 3 months you would probably be in the hospital looking like a Holocaust survivor, haha.
yea i ate whole pizzas, lasagna u name it i ate cause i wouldnt gain a pound, but recently have started eating healthy oat meal, cottage cheese im trying to get to 8% then go on a clean bulk lmao exactly thats why i didnt wanna do it i was like i bet i do p90x ill be a dam twig now im starting to play basketball again and started lifting again as well
Is there anyway to negative rep someone? I think you may be a hardgainer, and would recommend a gym program not p90x. Something like Stronglifts or Starting Strength.
