Times-Picayune - The Hornets might deal away veteran center P.J. Brown this summer, according to Benjamin Hochman.

Brown is 36 and in the final year of his $32 million, four-year contract. It also is possible the Hornets could trade one or both picks of their picks.

"Absolutely, we won't rule anything out," Bower said. "We'll take a look at every scenario possible to try and help our team get better

We really need to try and get him next season. He's the perfect PF for the Rockets.

I agree. Sure, he's old, but he's everything we want in a PF. great defense, good jumper, good rebounder, smart. I'd give Stro for him for sure.

If they don't keep Claxton, they'll need a backup PG. Maybe Stro, Alston and #8 for PJ, JR and #15?

FYI: I've seen PJ Brown working out at the Lifetime Fitness in the northside of Houston a lot lately.

I'm sick of old players except Cassell. Rockets need to get younger.

The way the league is changing, an old, savvy, traditional PF is not what we need.

Trade Swift for him, get out of his contract and get a productive player to boot.

Whether Stro is the answer or not (and I'm not nearly as down on him as most people on this board) doesn't mean that PJ is. The league is going smaller and quicker and more perimeter orientated in the frontcourt. So PJ would be far from a great pickup even if he wasn't 36 years old.

Just say "no" to rent an oldster. We have wasted two years with old temps. Time to build for the future. We are not one or two oldsters away from anything but a first round exit.

Five years ago? Sure. Now, we should find the "next PJ Brown."

No way. N.O. is very unhappy with his play and desperate to move him.

They would really have to sweeten this deal.................

When you consider that PJ's contract is expiring and would be valuable, I certainy agree. Of course, I would do almost anything to get out of Stro's contract. We could even throw in the number 2.

Of course mananging to get rid of Howard's contract would be even better.

Trade Swift + (whatever to balance it) for Brown and the pick.

Draft Sheldon Williams with the NOK pick.

He would fit perfectly with our team but I wouldnt give up Stro for him. Stro is alot younger and who knows how much PJ has left in the tank. Of course if theyed take stro for PJ and a pick then wouldnt mind. Get Sheldon and Carney and we have a ourselves an up and coming team
