taking care of buisness - i cant for the life of me remember who did that one. anyone know?

the entire moby album "play". that little bald dude made some serious money from selling those songs, as they were everywhere.

does hearing a song you like used in a commercial usually end up ruining the song for you? too often a song i once liked, i will find myself skipping over on cd cause it reminds me of minivans or french fries of some other crap.

i guess i can forgive a smaller group selling a song to make some money. back in the early 90's superchunk sold a tune to reebok and bought themselves a tour bus w/ the $$$. the shins had a song used in a mcdonalds commercial and were probably able to use the money for similar purposes.

Anything Motown - I really respect Motown music, but I'm going to go nuts if I see one more movie where characters "bond" by dancing and singing along to Motown. There was probably a time when Motown music wasn't associated with dorky baby boomers, but their (the baby-boomers') insistence on inserting their nostalgia into all corners of life has permanently turned the music into soundtrack fodder for crappy movies.

Fatboy Slim - His music is essentially one hook played for 3 minutes. Perfect for commercials but sorely lacking in artistic meaning.

I look on the song site but didn't see any listings for Budweiser.
They've got a commercial that's been running for a couple of months about how good their hops are that has a very cool tune.
Can anyone identify it for me?

As a mid baby boomer I am very pissed about my music being co-opted for commercial purposes. Led Zep for cadillac? Not unless it the upholstery was guaranteed against seed burns.

I can't believe nobody has said this one yet: The Romantics' "What I Like About You"

How many times has this been used in a commercial?

I forgot who made it, but damn I get tired of that dance song.

    'Wild Thing' - Tone Loc
Who decided that is what the Rox need to get going on offense?
