Have any of you had this problem with Outlook before? When I open Outlook after a few seconds, a small window will pop up with my default email name(a Yahoo email) the password in "XXXXXXX" and the "remember password" box already checked! I hit "enter" or "ok". It does it again and again and again. I've removed that account and re-entered it. I've removed Outlook and re-installed it. I've restarted my machine over and over. I waited until this morning to try it again and STILL, that damn thing keeps coming up! I guess I could always go to Yahoo and check my email, but I want my Outlook and all its formatted fun crap dammit! Any help is much appreciated. Have a great day everyone. ------------------ "Beware the lollipop of mediocrity. Lick once and you suck forever."
What program do you use? I use express and it is find. . . . .but I'm open to alternatives. [I don't care much for lotus notes. . . .esp since I have all my news groups in express too] Rocket River ------------------
I use Outlook 2000 and I've never had a problem. I have about 5 email accounts that run through it and it's smooth as anything. Downloads all 5 accounts at the same time instead of having to switch accounts/identities over and over like in Express. You might want to try switching over. ------------------ The ox is slow but the Earth is patient.
I use Outlook 2000 and have had this problem. It means that your server settings are configures wrong or your PW is wrong. ------------------ ~John~ Help keep the obsessed thread alive post the reasons why you are an obsessed Rockets fan by clicking here
Goto 'Help' and type in either 'password' or 'connection' I can't remember which. Your problem appears have something to do w/ the file that stores the password being corrupted. Such that, even if you type in a new password, Outlook would still use the corrupted file. So you'll have to delete (though I'd just rename the file in case this isn't the issue) the file indicated in Help, and hopefully that'll help. Personally, I use Outlook and it works fine for handling my accounts, contact info, and scheduling. And if you do switch over, get it through the OfficeXP suite!! ------------------
I would like to use Outlook at home for my personal email accounts, but don't know how to configure it. It wants to know what my incoming mail server is, and whether it's a POP3 or an IMAP server. It also wants to know what my outgoing SMTP server is. I have know idea what it's talking about in either case. I'm just using a modem w/MSN internet access, and will probably have other email accounts on there as well (yahoo, etc.). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks Kid Rocket!, I'll try just that. Freak Somewhere there should be help about configuring your email, especially with MSN. They would give you what to fill in for mail stuff. For instance, with Yahoo the incoming is pop.mail.yahoo.com outgoing is smtp.mail.yahoo.com I'm sure MSN would be very similar to that, probably MSN where Yahoo is. Check it out. Either way, man I miss my Outlook! ------------------ "Beware the lollipop of mediocrity. Lick once and you suck forever."
For whatever email service you use just go to the help section and look up POP3. It should have the server settings listed in there. These are the settins for yahoo. pop.mail.yahoo.com smtp.mail.yahoo.com ------------------ The ox is slow but the Earth is patient.
AH-HAAAAA! What a dumb-A$$! It seems to get Yahoo fowarded to your Outlook, you have to let them send you crap mail (theres an option for it, althoug its NOT an option if you wanna foward it!). For some reason I had it clicked off , but it was still fowarding my mail...up until 2 days ago. Geeeez! coffee time! ------------------ "Beware the lollipop of mediocrity.
