Isn't that like saying Chris Bosh doesn't have a great post up game? What matters is you catch the ball in the post and make a play. TRob is very raw but the talent is there. DMo, on the other hand, is very raw with less talent. Except for one good game, he's basically gotten destroyed every time he went in there. We need our bigs to defend, rebound, and finish at the basket more than use a possession and score it.
T-Rob's biggest problem is his defense is not yet at that reliable professional level. He may get the occasional highlight block or chase down block, but he's still not yet fundamentally sound when it comes to defense. This will be the most likely reason, McHale will not use him as much. He will more probably go with guys like Delfino, then G. Smith, then D-Mo as the guys he will be able to count on the most. As it is, all our PF's are still clueless rookies (though technically G.Smith isn't) When Dumars drafted Delfino, he saw him as someone who can fill-in as a big somewhat, because he plays with strength, toughness and some size. It will probably take more than a month to get T-Rob into the rotation.
What's up with racist undertones? You would prefer Caucasian american or Asian american? Your jealous because blacks use African american. I'm not here to be politically correct, I'm going to call it like I see it most likely your a racist.
Dmo will be starting before Thomas Robinson, he has a much more polished game, Robinson will be the energy guy off the bench - think Faried in Denver....last year. DD
I would start Thomas Robinson because of what he brings that D-Mo doesn't. I think Robinson supplements the starters better than the bench guys. He runs and rebounds and viciously attacks the rack. We won't look for him to show off some polished post game. He supplements the starters by running the floor, getting shooters the ball, finishing on the break, starting the break with outlets, et. al. The starters need that sort of player running alongside.
And you feel comfortable with someone who hasn't practiced or played with the rockets at all to start? Yea okay.
Carlos D is going to start. Mchale even said that the new players will join them but most likely wont play. It's a toss up between Carlos D or DMO (should be Jones). It depends on what the coach wants to play. Small ball or big? And our opponents. If we are playing size we can go small and run them out the building and if we are playing a smaller team we can beat them in the paint.
Fun fact : From the list 1)Carlos Delfino 2)Francisco Gracia 3)Chander Parsons Who is the oldest and youngest Rocket? Will post answer later
Morey sounded pretty sure that T-Rob wouldn't start yet. Sounds like he expects it to be Greg Smith or Donatas Motiejunas.
I think McHale will start Greg Smith or Carlos Delfino. I HOPE he starts Delfino. That small ball lineup BLITZES people. I can't believe he doesn't have more votes.
I suspect for the foreseeable future it will be Lin, Harden, Parsons, Delfino and Asik, with Smith, Robinson and Motiejunas getting some burn in the post off the bench depending on who has the hottest hand and is playing decent defense. Beverley and Garcia will be our perimeter bench. I would be surprised if we see anything other than a token Robinson for a while until he gets some practice time with the squad. Next season, barring unforeseen change, it likely will be Lin Harden Parsons FA Asik Two of either Robinson, Smith, Motiejunas or Jones probably will be gone.
I never thought I'd vote for Delfino to be a PF, but they need someone who can hit a jumper for spacing.
