Starters: Francis TMac Battier Scola Ming Bench by order: Wells James Hayes Mutombo Head Brooks Alston I think this will be the 12 that make the team this year as of rigth now if there are no more trades. I like our depth at the guard posistion, but we need more size on our bench. I know there are other big men in camp that will have a chance to make the team, but I dont see any of them being better then these 12 players. I think players like Novak , Snyder, Landry, and Butler will be the four that will fight for our injured reserved spots. Having 5 point gaurds on our twelve man roster might be stupid, so I hope we trade someone. I don't think we have ever had this much talent before. It will be very intresting to see what happens in training camp.
ok i am not having the greatest of days but whats the purpose of this thread? it couldnt have been posted in the countless other ones? /surly me
IMO Alston is a waste deep in the bench. I think management have to make a decision on whether to start him or not play him at all. Id much rather give snyder or novak a shot at cracking the team. I just dont see rafers bring valueable to the team as the 12th man in the rotation. Another thing to note is he will be nearly impossible to trade if he is deep in the rotation.
there is no way there's going to be 4 pg (brooks, alson, francis, james). i think alston, will be 3rd point guard, and hopefuly brookes replace him. Even though kirk snyder have weaknesses, so does luther. and both of them will fit well. look to see, rotation change alot, depending on our opponents. luther and snyder are the exact opposite. snyder tall defender bad shot good penetration Head small great 3 point shot clutch so, my guess, is head and snyder will change depending on the opponents. also, at the sg, we have so many looks, we can go to, with bonzi, james, and francis, and even tmac. we have alot of possobile lineups, and we have a coach that will use it to the best abiltiy. my Line Up: Francis Tmac Battier Scola (i think, hayes will be a better bench hustling player) Yao Bench by order: Hayes (i think, scola will have foul troubles early on, there for hayes is high off the list) Wells James Mutombo Head (could switch with snyder) Snyder Alston (brooks later on)
i think hayes should still start then scola, james and bonzi come off of the bench and that is still better than some scrub teams' starting top 3
Coach A might see things differently:- All players will have to prove their worth:- Mutombo only gets playing time due to injury Alston a reserve if he is on the team, he only gets playing time due to injury. Head - specialist 3 point shoter Novac - specialist 3 point shooter. Battier- defensive specialist Starters: Brooks James/Alston Francis Wells/Snyder/Head McGrady Battier/Novac Scola Hayes Yao Ming Butler/Mutombo.... 15 players team capacity. If Mutombo fails to resign then Landry, Harris and Reed will fight it out for spot #15
Perhaps his logic includes putting the rookie PG in the starting lineup as TMAC could assist him with ball-handling duties plus he would be in there with the starting talent which may better serve his transition into the NBA. Then with James coming off the bench, you have a veteran that is more capable of leading a second unit of Bonzi, Hayes, Mutombo, etc vice throwing a rookie in the mix.
Anyone else think Kirk Snyder is a poor mans Gerald Wallace? Gerald Wallace sucked when he was under Adelman btw I hope it's not the case, I like Snyder
On the opening day, the starting 5 line-up will be: Francis T-mac Battier Hayes Yao PF is not Scola for he is a rookie in NBA. He need some time to adapt himself to the new League. I think these days are not too long. Future starting 5: Francis T-mac Battier Scola Yao
He's not even going to play. Wells and Head are ahead in the pecking order. He'd be lucky to be on the active roster come opening night.
I''m hoping that Coach A utilizes Snyder much more this season. I know he's consider a slasher and what not, but I think he can be really effective in the post. Imagine him and Bonzi coming off the bench together and having more post up options. Incoporate a shooter in Luther Head out there, and you have a pretty unique system coming off the bench.
That means we'd go with a 12 man rotation, meaning TMac, Yao, and Battier, the 3 guys we need out there for at least 35 minutes a night, won't even play 20 minutes.
Don't we have like 32 other threads addressing this very same issue? I wonder what caused that hard drive with all the bbs stuff on it to fail? Maybe it figured out that this discussion would go on ad nausium until October and decided to committed suicide to avoid the agony. I'm just kidding. I love SF3, with that said, he is not starter material. Period.
I don't know if SF3 is the favorite to start but he should have a chance. Besides if he starts and plays bad yank him and put in MJ, Brooks etc.. Preseason is just around the corner we are almost there. Come on NBA season!
