Are you telling me when one of our best perimeter defenders goes out, our defense will decline? I IZ SHOCKED! I'm sure toothpick Capela going in out of the lineup helped our defense too!
That is actually not true. We don't have a great rebounder. But team rebounding has been quite good. We are ranked 4th in DRB%. Individual rebounding is overrated. Our defense is a concern. We have not been playing good defense in a long while. Losing Moute hurts but it should not make such a big difference. Last night, there were defensive lapses and mistakes time and again the whole game. It's just inexcusable.
Moute is the key to our switch defense scheme because he allows Ariza and Tucker to not only rest, but to have energy to play other roles. Tucker cannot play PF or C AND be asked to log heavy minutes. Same applies to Ariza. When a SF guards a big, they tire out real quickly.
