Did anybody else catch the end of Oprah today? I was channel surfing about 5 minutes before one of those ESPN talk shows and came in on the middle of a story about Oprah re-uniting some kids (3 sibs + 4 sibs) who have been wards of the state of Texas. Oprah managed to help get them returned to Houston. The kids are huge Rocket fans so the Rockets had made some arrangements for the 7 kids (ranging from 7 to 15 or thereabouts) to get some treats. Patrick Ewing had videotaped a message for the kids. They sent them all a bunch of Rocket gear including Yao jerseys and they are hosting them in one of the luxury boxes for the first Rockets' preseason game. The 7 kids are very close and are hoping to be adopted as a group. I missed the first part of the story, so I don't know any of those details. Don't you wish you had Oprah's clout and could do stuff like that for people?
