Does anyone know how to delete roads for driving directions? For example, I refuse to use the Westpark Tollway, but everytime I try to find an address in the Westside area, it pulls it up as the way to go. Any suggestions?
I'm not sure if I'm answering your question, but in Google Maps you can drag the route to take different streets.
In google map you can drag that direction line around to find an alternative route. I know what you mean though. I have a GPS receiver for my laptop, and I use Microsoft Street & Trips for GPS software. One time it led me through a ghetto at 3 am. It was pretty intense as I'm waiting on a red light, and bunch gangster looking guys were checking me out.
Go checking MapQuest.com out. It will give you an alternative route once you check off toll roads or high way.
I think it's relatively new, actually. But as someone who uses google maps every weekend, I love it. I don't think any other map site comes close to google maps.
On a related note: Any ideas how would you go about getting the map & driving directions listed online & with the in-car GPS services changed? When you pull up a state park in our area on google maps, the driving directions send you down our (private) ranch road. We've found people lost in our pasture a couple of times. and Google Earth & some of the car GPS stuff shows our road as a cut-through to a lake behind us. We had to pull a dumbass out of the mud Thanksgiving weekend. It's pretty annoying.
Yep, maquest allows you to use this feature, its off to the right hand side of the page somewhere, you don't even have to use freeways, or it gives you options of the shortest route or longest route. Tim
