Anyone recommend a specific site? Fastest? Or do they all have that damn ticker? Maybe one where I don't have to pay attention for those annoying quizzes.
I recommend the home video version you get at Blockbuster. Instead of staring at the computer monitor, you can sit back and watch it from a less eye straining distance. Plus, the version I had contained a little bit of comedy. There's also less of a chance of being distracted by p*rn...
Be careful about the video and the online quizzes... Somewhere I heard that they ask you the name of the dummy to see if you REALLY watched everything.... dunno if it's true or anything.
you just call them up. First, you sign up over the phone. Then you watch a part, phone in and take the quiz, and then watch another part. You have to take the quizzes at a certain time, because State law says you have to take breaks while taking defensive driving. Also, there's always a question about stuff in the tape (i.e.: what is the hosts name, what celebrity made a guest appearance, etc), to make sure you are watching the tapes and not fast forwarding.
I agree...my wife did the online deal, she HATED it. Had to keep using the mouse the entire time...meaning she had to be sitting there. The video is the way to go, pop it in & answer some questions. I think I missed one & I was hardly even watching the video.
Can anyone update me on a good defensive driving website, pretty much something that is easy and quick. They all claim to be quick and easy but I dont trust them. Anyone?
I believe there is a specific amount of time you're required to complete. In other words, the "quick" part of it is bs. It will be set up so that you have to go through a minimum amount of time on each section. Also, if it was hard, you shouldn't be driving.
http://www.comedydriving.com/?gclid=CJH8stzR750CFQhV2godvwhrLg i did this got my certificate in 2 days.....it's easy too.
Thanks, I like how they gave an sample of the course. By the way it says i have unlimited log in and log outs, but have a one hour break? So which one is it? is the max amount of time i can be away from the course 1 hour? or does it mean the course is only 5 hours long?
They require you to take a 15 minute break every hour or two. And the law is something like a DD course must be 8 hours long, so even if its just mindless clicking, you still will have to be logged in for that amount of time.
say you start today, and you want to do all 7 hours. Somehwere in that 7 hours they'll make you take an hour break, because like mentioned above it's a law that it has to be 8 hours. however, if you start today and say you only want to do the first 3 lessons. you finish your lessons, log out, and the clock for you hour break will begin. you can log back in a week later if you want, and beign where you left off. it took me about 2 days. did about 4 hours, logged out, and finished the next day. the hour break was counted the time i was logged out... You just need to be logged out for at least an hour after you register and start the first lesson hope thats not confusing. bascially they just dont want you to finish it in one sitting. (i've actually went to this guy's class. it's near the beltway and I-10 i think. i find the online much more convenient though). the delievery was quick. the certificate came in 2 days, and i got the regular shipping.
you can order you driving record online www.state.tx.us I just did online def driving forget which one. it wasn't bad , all video and online quizes, tests. I think it was made by the same company that makes the video you can rent which isn't bad either. just be careful when choosing an online one. I did it years ago and it was all text. I had to read a page . it was brutal
haha.. the Takehome defensive driving course?!?... I don't recommend it, but that's only because I worked for the place and they were pretty bad....
