looking at the nba.com roster page for the rockets its shows the only captain on the team is T-Mac. Aren't there usually two captains on a team? My understanding of the rules was the captains have a little bit more priveleges when it comes to talking to the refs on a call or non call for their teammates. Personally I would like to see the other captain be Shane Battier or Yao. Did we have two captains last year?
Yao's English is still somewhat broken ... I assume that's why he's not the captain. Shane Battier would make sense in that role, but he's new to the team. Also Juwan Howard, but he doesn't see much court time nowadays.
i always thought alston was the co-captain for this year. u know, with the whole "kissing" the ref thing. haha, that or slipping some $$$ bills their way. thats what a captain should be doing for us. jk.
I love it when rafer does things like that! Its so opposite of what the whiny players do (like kicking innocent exercise bikes) and is a really good attitude.
Hahah good stuff So how exactly do captains come about? Do they just assume the position by leadership.. or do JVG tell them and the ref?
Shane would be a great captain for this team. He's a 7 year veteran, has great basketball knowledge, and he's dependable. He also never misses games, and is well liked around the league.
i want to say that juwan was co-captain at one point or another, but i'm not entirely sure when that was.
battier for co captain...that man delievers his words like a politican...always careful to be impartial and very well mannered...i bet he's never sworn in his life..
