I remember my brother and I saving our change so we could buy our old school nintendo. When we finally did get it, we had to use an old black and white TV. Geez. Now I feel really old. Seriously though, original nintendo was the best. I still have mine and I break it out on occasion. My favorite games: Zelda, Metroid (aren't they making a new one???), Super Mario Bros., and, of course, Bubble Bobble. Does anyone else remember this game? It kicks a$$. ------------------ Poopy!
One Word: Zork Although my favorite video game (non PC) of the old times has to be the original Super Mario Bros. One day I beat that game four consecutive times in a few hours. ------------------ What can change the nature of a man?

If ya'll want to get back into some true classics, emulation is the way to go. Check out: www.emulation.net for old school console emulators. You can get anything from NES to Turbo Graphics 16 emulators. www.mame.org or www.macmame.org has old school video game emulators. I've wasted hours playing Shinobi and Arkanoid and various quarter-eater games. Get on any search engine an search for the actual ROMs (search for "ROMs") to play said old school games. There is some legal stuff to read about downloading ROMs. Though not necessary, it is an interesting read. ------------------ "We got f*cking smashed every day. One was white and the other, green. Little red LED lights, up, down, forward, stats, score and kick. Difficulty level was Pro1 and Pro2. The difference between I and II was the ability to pass in II... lol i had an atari 400, games, tape recorder, basic cartridge, joystick and books... (still have some of it!!) i had friends who had commodores and apples, dot matrix printers and 5 1/4" floppies. arcade games: Galaga --anyone remember Dragon's Lair? The LaserDisc whatever game... Pole Position Battle Zone.. stand up tank game with a periscope type view finder... Missile Command --watching people play Track & Field, and beat the crap out of the machine while they played... banging real fast and other wacky repetitive motions... Centipede Defender Joust and many others that I'll add later when I think about them... nothing like replying to your own posts!! have fun! rH [This message has been edited by rockHEAD (edited February 28, 2001).]
Kung Fu Bubble Bobble Contra Super Contra Super Mario Super Mario 2 Super Mario 3 Double Dragon Bad Dudes My friend also had this one nintendo cartridge with 190 games on it and they all kicked ASS! Im sure there are numerous others that I cant remember rite now. All of these games sell on ebay for a few bucks. The original Nintendo is $200!!!! (brand new) ------------------
I remember begging my mom for a computer back in the early '80s. She said something to the effect of "No. All you'll do is play games on it!" Well duh. I'd probably be a billionaire programmer right now if she'd only bought me that damn Commodore! ------------------ "We got f*cking smashed every day. You can't beat Duck Hunt... my dad and I used to have challenges with each other where we stood on the other side of the room and shot the ducks by aiming at them in their reflections in the mirror. Fastest draw in the Wes..... uhhh, my house!!! I was also a fan of Gyro...something or other. It was the game designed for the little robot that was shipped with all the original Nintendo systems back when it first came out... the only problem was that few of them worked like they were supposed to, and they took them off the market. They looked cool, though. ------------------ "all your base are belong to us!" "you have no chance to survive make your time!" I kept going up and down, up and down until I got tackled on the 1 yard line!! They asked me why I did that and I replied "I was going for long yardage"!
