Press conference just announced it due to problem in leg. Out 6 to 8 months. ------------------ "Don't waste it. We're here."
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ------------------ Charles Barkley on TBS on the "fat track" poll: "What? 47% said I'd gain more.....why those.....they better be glad this is a family show."
Just to add, it is a "potential blood clot" that will require a type of medication that will keep him out for 6 to 8 months. It is NOT just the leg. It is the medication and the treatment that will keep him out. Ugh!!! ------------------ "Don't waste it. We're here."
I hope he retires. I mean if he's out 6-8 months with something in his leg then he probably won't be able to do any conditioning etc. He would probably miss the start of next season etc. Hopefully he will just hang it up. ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
The Dream will be missed. Him and Barkley....what a shame. If the Rockets make the Playoffs you will truly know that this team will have balls of steel. A Championship for the Wounded starts today. Lets give our boys much love. try hard ------------------ -jbond77
With this news, I still hope we make the playoffs but it doesn't really matter without Dream. He was a big part of our resurgence and we just don't have the defensive presence with him gone. It will make our task at hand much more difficult...that is for sure. So, if we make the playoffs...great...we may see our beloved Rockets play in a few more games. If we don't, then we look forward to next season with a hopefully exciting off-season. I expect great things next season . Surf ------------------
HA Ha HA Haha..ha..ha...Uhhh..Why do I get the the feeling this is not a joke? ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
So ends the career of a Legend , ohh god Im really gonna cry . Dream your the best . ------------------ Oh yes I'm helping with the California Power Crisis , I've turned off more women than Achebe
I miss you already DREAM. 34 forever. The rockets will never be the same. See you in the hall of fame. ------------------ I am an invisible man.
This really puts a cloud on things, whatever transpires the rest of the way. I really wanted to see Hakeem end it helping the Rockets make a playoff run. I feel bad for him, because no player wants it to end like this. Hakeem was the main reason the Rockets were making a serious run for the playoffs anyway. His inspired play before he was injured was the catalyst for the team's improved play. Without him they have struggled. This really is the worst news the Rockets could have gotten. ------------------
You know it's bad when my mom who doesn't even follow basketball calls me up from Houston to tell me they just said Hakeem has a blood clot in his leg. ugh. ------------------ "I was arrested for sexual assault involving an elderly man and I was out in 35 minutes." -- Achebe - programmer by day, geriatric ass grabber by night. As(s?) a side note, he did state he was cleared of charges.
If I was Les, #34 jersey should be retired immediately! I never thought I would see this day . ...To me, Dream will always be the symbol of the Houston Rockets!!! ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
His last game was scoreless in Atlanta, but the game before that was a 27-13 LOSS in Dallas. That is not the way it was supposed to end. Playoffs? I don't care. This is devastating. I hope Hakeem is able to play again, because this is not the way it should end. Couldn't he play in the final game? Maybe a few minutes? Like Barkley? ------------------ Re-elect President Gore!
