That last no call really pissed me off. I mean it's clearly not a block, the man is on fire, and you're basically suggesting he airballed that shot like 4 feet short.
The no call ruined my night. This is why I usually avoid watching Jazz games, since they are the one of the leaders in fouls drawn in the league and the free throw disparity in their home games is one of the biggest. It pisses me off to no end. I hate you Salvatore.
for those who didn't it. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Sy5Bu3_K-Hk&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Sy5Bu3_K-Hk&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
The NBA needs to review this. The refs clearly missed the call. My fear is the NBA will likely want this to be forgotten and not question the refs why they didn't review video on this last sec play which effected the outcome of the game.
if a referee can't call that foul..then why even have refs? why don't they just go home before the last play? it's not like they are going to call anything...traveling..fouls..block..charge..3 secs.. as far as the standings..it's the best scenarios.. lakers vs. blazers jazz vs. okc (definite possibility for an upset) dallas vs. SA (more reason for fans for both teams to hate each other) suns vs. nuggets (no defense will be played in this series)
+1. This is why I really don't care much for the NBA anymore. It's a joke when stuff like this happens. ALL THE TIME. I love the rockets, and I go to a game or two every year, but I don't watch the games on TV, I don't follow the standings anymore, I don't really expect anything "sport" about it. I follow my team haphazardly out of habit and nostalgia, but the league is dead to me. The combination of superstar-oriented play + refs blatantly endorsing it ruined the game.
If the refs were going to be that blatant with the non call they shouldve just called a tech on Durant.
i wouldn't trade for bosh if I am OKC, bosh is too soft and injury prone, green has great potentials.
Agreed. Green complements Durant well with his defense and toughness, which bosh has yet to show. Neither team benefits from this deal. Add Bosh's scoring and versatility to the Rockets, on the other hand...
exactly. the it's end of the game and we don't call a foul is the dumbest thing i have heard. isnt that the best time to call a foul? isnt that why referees are there..during the crucial times when a superstar goes for a game winning shot and get whacked on the arm? but in the middle of the 3rd q when kobe gets touched near the elbow..it's a foul? give me a freaking break.
If I were the Thunder I'd trade Harden to Memphis for Marc Gasol. The one piece they lack is a true center and Gasol will be an 18-10 guy next year while the Griz will need to replace some of the scoring that Gay gives them. Imagine this lineup...... Westbrook/Maynor Thabo/FA or Draft Pick Durant/FA or Draft Pick Green/Ibaka Gasol/Krstic i'd use capspace and a draft pick to help the bench. If all this happened...they will challenge the Lakers for the West crown next year.
I agree with your sentiments. Garnett commented that KD was getting calls like "Michael *****ing Jordan" when they played the Celtics. And yet this non-call went against a superstar; I guess this was an exception to the rule, except it was still bad reffing that ruined a great game. I hope this doesn't happen in the playoffs if these two meet.
Backup C: Thomas as in... Etan Thomas? over Collison and Krstic? The expiring contract, hand clapping Thomas?
Oops, I thought Krstic was the FA and it is actually Thomas who is...my mistake. Collison will probably be gone this offseason, as an expiring contract, so I wouldn't count him.
So are you saying the refs did not see the foul? If they did not then where were the refs when the play happened? Common sense tells me the ref saw the foul but just didn't call the foul.
No, there is a lemma to the rule: In the final 10-15 seconds of play, it is extremely unlikely a foul is called. The truly maddening thing is that these fan-created rules were basically acknowledged true in the Donaghey scandal. That really ended it for me. Without large-scale changes I don't think I'll ever be super-interested again.
