He's the worst thing imaginable for a team trying to win a championship: An inexperienced chucker who thinks his only chance at staying in the league is to get attention by putting up numbers. Let the Mavs keep him -- he just makes them that much worse, no matter how many shots he takes.
6-15 shooting, 5 turnovers, 0 assists Yeah, but bad we let THAT team player go. The good thing about Gerald and his shooting spree is that now we know who DaDakota's Chosen One is for this year.
He had an average game against the Lakers...some good some bad...did you watch it? Because 3 of those misses were when his teamates passed it to him with 2 seconds on the clock and he had to heave it up. Also, he had a few potential assists on cutters down the lane where he hit them on the move and they blew the layup. Also, how did Tmac do against the Lakers....is 6-15 better than 1-11? Don't cherry pick...look at his whole year.....he is averaging 10ppg in only 17mpg and shooting 50%...that is a lot better than ANY GUARD on our team, isn't it? He is this year's Carl Landry for them. DD
Not even the same type of player, one is a wing, the other an athletic PF...one can get his own shot the other is reliant on others to get one for him. One is only 22 years old, the other has had years to prove himself. You are just a hater, and as Gerald continues to get better will be proven wrong.... DD
Let's not be silly about this, does anyone seriously doubt that the Rockets would like a mulligan on this one?
He's improving, he already had massive potential, and people are hating because he hasn't always played the right way. You guys remember when the Hornets gave the boot to JR Smith for nothing? He had the same mentality. I think he turned out pretty good...and i bet they would take him back in a heartbeat to play over Morris Peterson. Oh and DD, we probably won't get him back. The mavs will probably give him close to mle money and he'll probably accept it before anything we offer. Why would he wanna come back here?
He is from Houston, he loves the Rockets, and he can play for a winning team with Yao Ming etc....instead of languishing in Dallas. All Dallas can offer is the full MLE, and so can Houston.....all things being equal, I would think he would want to play for his boyhood team. DD
He's a young player. Young players LOVE to be on bad teams. They have no idea how short their careers will be. see: $ Money wise, it is in his best interest to play for the worser team to build up his resume for the next contract. Trust me, he don't love homecookin' that much, it's the same reason Lebron'll jump ship in 2010.
He is playing with Jason Kidd. Tyson Chandler looked like crap, until he got traded to a team with Chris Paul. There is no way I will offer the full MLE to him, right now. I'd like to see how the rest of the season turns out before suggesting 5-6 million dollars per year.
Jason Kidd is not how he is scoring....but I agree about the MLE, and I was talking about the end of the year anyway.....we could have had him cheaper if Morey would have signed him instead of Von Wafer. DD
Different situation. He was competing for Head's spot, not Wafer's. Would the Rockets take Green over Wafer? Probably. But to have him to compete against Wafer, we would have had signed him already.
See this is just 100% wrong, all you need to look at is would he make the Rockets better. Stock your team top to bottom with TALENT.......Green is better than Luther, better than Wafer, better than probably 3 or 4 guys on the Rockets..... And we could have signed him cheaply.....and he wanted to stay in Houston. It was a blunder.....should have kept him. We are talent deficient, especially in what he brings. Who else on the entire roster attacks the basket on the closeout of our 3pt shooters? DD
Hmmm, right now Green is playing better than: Head Wafer Barry Francis Dorsey And arguably Rafer Battier Tmac Yes, I know the latter two because of injury....etc....but at least better than 4 or 5 guys..... Green would have been worth keeping....just to push Tmac etc in practice. DD
