Hunter...you can't nibble on every pitch. You have to throw some legitimate strikes in there or else they'll just lay off. If the ump ain't giving you those edges, adapt and stop trying to nibble. It's that simple. Unless you're not confident in your stuff. He doesn't have the mental fortitude to throw strikes and dare hitters to hit him like France does, that's for sure.
