It wasn't the wrong move taking Lance out, have to monitor him still. It was questionable bringing in Feliz but it was more likely to work out than not. It just didn't.
What you mean? He surrendered a base hit or walk to 5 straight hitters. After the second hit you should take him out. It was obvious he kept throwing the ball down the middle.
Seriously, I understand that it's impossible to guess how bringing in a certain relief pitcher will ultimately pan out in a given situation. But when the guy is drowning, how do you not have the common sense to pull him? Hinch should have pulled Feliz the second that they Yankees took the lead. Leaving him in this long is just negligent.
Like I said, if Feliz is on the active roster as of tomorrow, it shows the kind of ball club we are. Like the Rockets, win in the regular season, but **** the bed when it comes playoff time. This kid doesn't deserve to pitch for this team.
He's been a ton better starting an inning fresh as opposed to coming in with runners on, at least to my recollection. This is where Hoyt totally flaming out hurts (and/or Peacock), that was his role. I think it's safe to say Feliz pitched himself down the pecking order, they just don't have anybody else right now.
I don't disagree with the pitch count point. My thinking is you let him get out of the jam because he is your second best pitcher and one of the best in the bigs. Now obviously if it gets out of hand yank him but I would have liked to see him pitch in that pressure situation rather than someone fresh outta the bullpen.
I was referring to bringing him in at all. Once he was ******** the bed we probably should have pulled him earlier.
