intentionally walk that mo fo or hit him on the arm. I'd say those numbers are clear, no need to have him do what he did last night. Velasquez earned that win only to have it snatched tragically.
Tough one to lose. Harris has been nails all year, so unfortunate to watch him blow that one. His xFIP on the year is now 2.98. FIP isn't quite as useful with relievers because they have a smaller sample than starters, but when an ERA and FIP are that far apart is scares me that some bad outings are due from him. On the positive note, a good outing from VV. He only struck out 2, for one game that isn't a concern, but moving forward I hope he can find that Roy Oswalt ratio of K's and getting guys to put the ball in play. Somewhere between his first few starts and this one. But nonetheless, still a very positive outing.
Hope to see Singleton play today, and IF he hits, and continues to hit, maintain him playing and sit Carter, PLEASE
Anybody have cheap tickets they are trying to get rid of? My brother is in town and hasn't been to a game in about 10 years, been in new York since 2005.
Evan Gattis, left fielder. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Astros?src=hash">#Astros</a> today. Evan Gattis plays defense, Singleton at DH <a href="http://t.co/rNznZS3iQ9">pic.twitter.com/rNznZS3iQ9</a></p>— Chandler Rome (@Chandler_Rome) <a href="https://twitter.com/Chandler_Rome/status/614831186607632388">June 27, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Honestiy, not too surprised to see this at home and with Marisnik injured and neither Tucker or Santana tearing it up. I think it makes sense to deploy Gattis in left at MMP. I think we'll see this more.
I remember Gattis saying not playing defense hurt him when he was struggling early in the season. This could make forgetting at-bats a little easier.
Do you not know that Bobby Bonds (Barry's father), was a pretty good player in his day? For all of Ashby's faults, this is a completely reasonable statement.
The post you responded to was a perfectly reasonable comment from Ashby. Bobby Bonds is Barry's father and actually stole more bases than Barry per season.
Considering it was prefaced by first person "this season" to do so, yes it was unreasonable. I'm sure Barry Bonds, Bobby Bonds, Rickey Henderson and hundereds of other players have done it. Not a big deal, but he just says so much stupid crap, it adds up. So Gattis and Carter in the field today, Singleton at DH. Singleton is the best athlete of the 3 (really not saying much) I wonder what the reasoning is for him at DH.
