AJ said at the beginning of the year, he wanted Gurriel to play some shortstop in addition to first, second and third. Looks like he really will become our new utility man next year. I'd like to see what he can do at short. Would prefer a lefty/switch hitting utility man, but if he can do it, why not? Congratulations, Dean Deetz! Been looking forward to watching him debut, I was hoping that the blowout would lead to an appearance from him, and I got my wish! I'm partial to him as I have a good friend who's from his hometown and went to the same high school as he did.
A lot of positives to come away from tonight IMO. Springer seems to be rounding into shape. Altuve drew two walks and got a double. You could tell a difference in Altuve once he got that double. If Correa can get hot, this team is going to be lethal come October.

That slider for the K from Deetz was legit. Valdez, Perez, James, and now maybe Deetz are soaking up some valuable innings to keep the arms ready for the post season
