At this point Luhnow looks like an idiot for keeping Williams on the team and Porter is also an idiot for using him. Whats the point of having a solid closer if he gets used in the 8th and putting in the worst pitcher in the 9th...
If Porter says he was using Qualls in the 8th because of matchups, I can almost say ok (almost)....but there is NO excuse for bringing in Williams in the 9th, none, zero, natta
How many teams use their long reliever in high pressure situations except for Bo Porter. Qualls should have gone 2 innings.
there always needs to be a dog**** veteran pitcher like williams on the roster for long relief availability. if he was used exclusively for that and other extreme/desperate situations, that would be fine. but he isn't.

Even with his logic, he should have left Zeid in to start the 8th. You can't leave yourself with Jerome Williams in the 9th of a 2-1 game.

he's acting like today wasn't the 1st day that he finally discovered that you're allowed to use your closer in situations other than the 9th.
I think Kubiak's dad had him a black girl on the side back in the day, and the result... was Bo Porter. He even said, "battle" in that interview. I mean DAMN! How stupid can one get? That was Jimy Williams type dumb.
The 1M was a lot of things... But he could certainly manage a bullpen (better than most recent Astros managers for sure). Hell, the 6 pitcher no hitter gets him some immunity on that for sure.
