"As I'm sure many of you have heard, it's been reported that I have high blood pressure. Well, I wanted to reassure all of you that my health condition has been greatly exaggerated in the news and rumors that I suffer from hypertension are false. I have been traveling with the Chinese National Team nonstop for 3 weeks, playing every other day in a different city throughout China and Hong Kong. I have been exhausted because of the grueling playing schedule and the poor security on and off the court. But now that I am back in Beijing and have had some time to rest, I feel back to normal."

hmm, he HAS been exhausted, but is now normal. Hopefully, he isn't just saying this to calm our fears.

He better get an adequate amount of rest for that melon of his upon returning to Houston, because I'm not going to put up with a player copping z's in the bush (or should I say Paint) this year.

Why don't we just get this poor kid a 24-hour digital health monitor that can be attached to the internet. That way, everyone on the planet can monitor every heartbeat, every crap he takes, every bead of sweat on his brow.

I know, we can implant sensors in his brain to read his thoughts. Then, we'll truly understand him.

    MUWAH HA HA HA HA!!!!

The poor guy.... People talk so much about Yao needing time away from basketball. It seems that what he needs just as much is time away from the public.

Of course he's exhausted. No privacy, no time off. It's like being a rock star on tour 365 days of the year.

Two ways to deal with overreaction. Either you ignore the people who overreact or you educate them. I chose to do the latter. That's why I posted the link to calm the people down and then hopefully they would stop talking about it. The best way to convince people not to worry about something is to let them know what they worry about is not true.

I think that for the preseason we should pretend Yao is still in China.

Then we should: sneak him and his girl friend over, let them hang out in that Houston subdivision on the lake, let Yao sleep, be bored, play video games, play with his girlfrend, post on this bbs and do some light weights and jogging.

After a week or two maybe you might let him show up to watch practice and let him study the play book.

That might be the best prep for the season for him.
