Man, Pence and Feliz swung at some horrible pitches. Pence actually swung at a worse one but managed to get an infield hit. It's not hard to see why he only has 3 walks on the season when he goes after a pitch like that. Bases loaded, 1 out, we get nothing.
Wonderful, Manzella slips and can't turn the DP. He can't hit worth a lick and it looks he's nothing more than serviceable in the field. Tie game. Paulino is losing it quickly here. If we lose and the Orioles win tonight, we're officially the worst of the worst. Their game is also tied at 2. Paulino manages to limit the damage there but he was struggling with his command all inning.
For the second consecutive time, Feliz swings at a pitch in the dirt and strikes out. This was a pointless signing for so many reasons.
Sampson had a little swagger going after that first out. He knows he's been on a roll of late. Next pitch. Boom. Outta here. Tie game again.
Nice. It was 2 outs and nobody on and Manzella hit a soft grounder that should have been a sure out. Instead, Barmes commits a weak error and 2 batters later, we take the lead.
And Keppinger clears the bases. How bout that after it looked like we were sure to put a goose egg up in the inning.
The comments from opposing fans when we win games or have a lead are hilarious. Here's a gem... 24alldaylong: How pathetic is it to lose to the dogbutt astros ouch and... TuloIsJesus10: corey sullivan rockie reject
and even though it's been mentioned.... the best news of the season so far? Matsui is gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooone! Thank Christ (truly).
I just looked at the pitching probables and the next 4 guys we face have ERAs: 1.12 2.38 2.54 1.81 Our offense sucks, and we have to compound it by facing a ton of good pitchers.
That's crazy, and with the way the Astros of been hitting, it looks none of those pitchers will be significantly lowering their ERA.
It's "have". "...with the way the Astros have been hitting..." Sorry; it's just unbearably annoying for me to see "of" (a preposition) and "have" (a verb) used interchangeably. [/annoyingselfappointedInternetgrammarsherriffguy] (my apologies)
