Yeah, why would you want the NL era leader back? Why would you want a guy with 350 wins pitching every 5th day? Wandy Rodriguez is basically the same pitcher.
1-9 stretches suck. WWW. FTR, I *do* want Clemens to pitch in an Astros uniform this season. With all the whining about his drama, you'd think he's freaking TO. Guy is a presence in the clubhouse. He mentors the young pitchers and his work ethic sets a strong example. Then he goes out and delivers on the field. (It's fun describing, you know, without saying it.)
exactly.....i find it utterly ridiculous that we have money earmarked for the best pitcher that ever lived (and still would be , arguably, the best pitcher in the NL if he started tonite) and people have issues with that because he is taking the same unorthodox approach to playing/signing that he has for the past few years
I don't think people don't want him so much as they don't want everything centered around him - like winning so he'll come back instead of winning for the sake of winning.
Ahhhhh...Mike Lamb at 3rd. Funny how the ball finds guys like that in critical situations...ala Loretta at SS earlier this year, and Burke in CF. Tough play, but you've got to glove that.
