I just don't see any reason why we shouldn't call up Hirsch to take Buchholz's spot in the rotation....this team is nowhere near as good as the team of the last 2 seasons...how many times were we blown out of games in the 1st inning last year? Maybe 3 or 4 times....this team is way too inconsistent.

Berkman is a god when it comes to getting RBI and getting hurt at the same time.

I would try Albers or Sampson first. They have already used an option year and they have gotten their feet wet and done well. Plus, Hirsh has a sore arm, so you don't want to put him under any more pressure.

By the way - Berkman re-aggravating his injury is exactly why he didn't play Tuesday no matter how good he thought he felt, for whoever was arguing about how stupid Garner was for sitting him.

The season is likely over if they lose tonight/this series. If Berkman's out for an extended time, I won't blame Garner at all... they had to take the risk. Might as well have done it Tuesday. I know there was the risk. But it's the importance of this series that made it one worth taking. I still feel that way.

very nice. Munson should probably start over Ausmus, except for Clemens starts. At least he has some pop.
