Talk about the series here. Please no PBP in this thread. Unless otherwise noted all games are on CSN-H (for about 40% I guess). 7-1 Matt Moore, LHP vs. Dallas Keuchel, LHP 7:10 7-2 David Price, LHP vs. Erik Bedard, LHP 7:10 7-3 Roberto Hernandez, RHP vs. Bud Norris, RHP 7:10 7-4 Chris Archer, RHP vs. Jordan Lyles, RHP 1:10
Ash and Brownie have great banter. The top of the 6th was almost non-stop wittiness. Oh, and uh, sucks about that call.
Have to say...I'm totally fine with that. No one expected anything more than that to start the season....and it comes with its own reward at draft time next season.
Aww hell yea! Don't get me wrong, I'm not necessarily hoping we lose, but I find a lot more value being the worst team in the league and having the biggest money pool to play with as opposed to being the 2nd worst team in the league. Do our players really win any moral victories by saying, "Hey, at least we weren't the worst team in the league"? I'm also hoping that our young guys develop as well. I don't mind losing tough 5-4 games if that means some of younger players and/or trade-able assets do well. For example, take the game over the weekend that Bud started. Sure we lost, but Bud pitched great, and increased his trade value. Maybe I am just justifying losing and taking the positive outlook on it so I won't drive myself crazy with all these losses, but that's a great example of a win-win situation in my opinion.
I know...it sucks. But it's not like I'm going anywhere as a fan...and I love what they're doing with rebuilding the farm. I see this as part of it...and I really didn't expect much better than what I've seen. I never expected them to play over .500 for a month of baseball, and they've done that.
What I can't stomach is another summer like last year. I hope we can win 60 games, or even better 63. Might still be bad enough to pick #1.
Both of these comments made me chuckle aloud. Our inability to perform has led to some high level sarcasm and greatness.
I am fine with us winning as many games as possible as long at the end of the year that total is one less than the Marlins.
If we finish in a tie, we still get the better pick. Tiebreakers are based on the previous season's record, which we'd have over anyone.
