Remember when we bought all in to being the team with the best BB:K ratio in all of baseball? That was 2017. Then somewhere along the line we bought into the new BS of home run or bust.
The defense did not do Framber any favors tonight, and he still pitched damn well. He at least deserves not to lose this game—the offense needs to step up.
These ****ing umps have been absolutely hot piss against the Astros pitchers all series. Not giving the outside calls the rangers pitchers have gotten
Framber deserves to taken out the mental focus was gone . In a playoff situation you take him out earlier . just not executing . A lot of guys prolly need a talkin to tonight lol. dusty shoulda put in Vasquez . Maldonado looks like he wants to kill framber . Plus he looked tired having to block all the balls in dirt . framber was in his head . Get that sports psychologist on retainer. Best case scenario he was pushing himself to get ready for the playoffs ... in which case , I guess it’s a good learning experience.
I am cautiously optimistic that Maton is getting some of his confidence back, and that may be able to take an Abreu-like jump next year. Don't look now but that is 5 straight outings without allowing a run, and a sub-1 WHIP and high K rate in that stretch. Small sample size, but he needs it.
The streak continues! 23 quality starts in a row!!!!!! One more and he's tied the single season MLB record of 24. 3 more and he's tied the all time record of 26.
Maton has no "stuff". Just watch him pitch. It's like he's throwing darts at a dart board blindfolded. His celling is extremely limited. He's NOT Abreu. Two totally different pitchers.
