They are an annoying bunch for their lack of accomplishment... but you do have to hand it to the organization for getting things turned around after the mess that was left by Tom Hicks.

It was 103 degrees at their game yesterday, and none of the fans were in their seats. They'd probably be packing the house every day and night had they built their stadium in an era of retractable roofs... ah well, Metroplexes blow.

They've never drawn 3 million fans. Ever. Even with the novelty of that ballpark. That baffles me, considering how many people live there...but then you consider the heat...my God, the heat...and you totally get it. What a mistake.

The thought of this team winning the pennant...and the level of obnoxious I'd have to tolerate from my friends from Dallas...literally makes me wince. I can not imagine it. It's a nightmare scenario. Like Human Centipede. I refuse to contemplate it.

Old Busch in St. Louis was almost as bad, and it didn't stop the fans from going to the game. I think it's just that people from Dallas are p*****s.

well..to be fair to my dallas friends...the cards history has been a tad more rich than the senators/rangers :)

one playoff game win in franchise history. seriously, that's a remarkable feat over that many years.

Perhaps the most amazingly incompetent, inane, and stupid decision in the history of modern sports: let's spend multi-millions of dollars on a brand new park with no roof in Texas!

It's a beautiful park which I've been to several times. Getting older, I now choose to enjoy its aesthetic beauty from the comfort of my living room or hotel room.

Interesting you guys are discussing this topic, along with the Stros moving their AAA team to New Orleans/Nashville came this interesting nugget of info regarding Ameriquest Field.

A roof would be the way to go IMHO, nice stadium with a great ballclub but DAM its hot.

Just checked the box score for yesterday's Rangers game.

It has tickets sold/attendance at 47K

I watched bits and pieces of the game, and I'm telling you I'd be surprised if 20K actually showed up. It was blazing hot.

Boy, am I out of the loop on this one. I mean I'm aware Nolie has some (or lots of) ownership stake at RR, but is this really a done deal?

    :( :( :(

Check the prospect thread, I posted some info from a news article talking about it. Nothing close to being done but really just speculation as to wear the Stros might move to and what may become available.
