He has struggled mightily against RHP over his career. That is why he hasn't stuck with a team. Check out his splits: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?n1=keppije01&year=Career&t=b vs RHP: .645 OPS vs LHP: .908 OPS Despite his tremendous plate discipline, he really is a situational hitter with very little pop.
Who is going to draw an unintentional walk first this season, Feliz or Manzella? I'm going with Feliz but the starting left side of our infeld has 0 walks through 16 games.
Wandy has cruised through 6 with only 79 pitches. I would love to see him get 6 more outs and get some mop up work for Moehler or Fulchino.
Some good early signs with both Castro and Mier is that they have good plate discipline. We need as much of that as we can get out of the next generation of Astro hitters.
Remember when this guy and Wandy were both end of the rotation guys: http://www.mlnsports.com/baseball/features/articles2005/08/15/39.html Astacio was ranked the 39th best minor league player by that group. Being left-handed is always a huge advantage if all else is equal.
Lyon has strung quite a few good outings in a row now, I am really excited about Lyon and Lindstrom at the back end of the pen.
A little rough but its all good... I really enjoy Baggy on the Mike, doesn't seem like a natural but still very fun to listen to his insight.
Throughout his career (minors and ML), Lindstrom has walked batters at a very high rate. So far in this young season, that hasn't been a problem.
Man, rough post game interview...LOL. You know...you know...i say...you know...like I say...you know....they know...you know...scary...you know...no no no no no....no... you know....I think it make it...you know....i think it make the pitcher....you know....thankyou.
Have you heard Paulino in his postgames? I'm not sure that he even understands half of the questions or that the reporters understand half of his responses.
There was a pretty hilarious postgame interview last season with, I believe, Gervacio. First off, he was dressed like Vanilla Ice. Secondly, I'm almost 100% sure that he didn't understand a single question. The majority of the brief interview involved him just smiling at the camera and there were several awkward moments of silence and confusion.
