Bob Tewksbury didn't stick until after about 7 minor league seasons. If you want me to dig up a list of recent guys who did similar things, I'm sure I can find you a pretty sizable list of middle of the road MLB players. It has happened before. I'm not saying he's a top prospect or anything. But there are all sorts of guys who bump around the minors for years and years because they don't have the visible skills like a 95 Mph fastball, before getting a chance and turn out to be better than trash.
i'm not arguing wether it's true or not...... thats just not the right time, place or even the right wording. coop is not an expert on much of anything related to baseball, except trying to steal bases every chance he gets. i'm sorry but i am prety sure i could be a better hitting coach than whoever is teaching hunter pence and jr towles to swing. i know he doesnt have a whole lot to work with.......but. i seriously think this team quit on coop, robinson, wade, mcclain or all of the above.
Moehler is another non-velocity, must hit his spots type. He's over-achieved this season. Not today. 3-0 Pirates in the top of the 1st with 1 out.
wow, that is really going out on a limb there..........i'm gonna go out a limb here also and say that smoking causes cancer.
Make that 6 hits and 4 ER so far in the 1st for Moehler. The latest hit came from pitcher Ian Snell, a .167 hitter coming into this game. Snell with his 1st RBI of the season.
Pence with yet another infield hit. Dude is hitting well under .200 minus his infield hits according to JD. Sounds like Taveras kind of stuff. Not what we want out of Pence. Well, it was actually a FC but Pence sure is hitting a lot of tricklers.
Wiggy gets fooled on a full count. Otherwise, we possibly push Snell over 40 pitches in the 1st. 4-3 after 1. I wonder what Vegas had as the over/under on total runs for this game.
oh yeah it was! if that had been miggy, this game would be 5-0. i wish coop would have played erstad and blum also. for a guy who doesnt throw strikes, the last guy i want to see up there is wiggington, bourn, and tejada.
A nice, controlled swing leads to a rare dinger for Matsui. He's looked pretty good since his return.
