    HAHA!

    The Clap is too easy.

Brad Lidge DREAMS that he was Mitch Williams, because at least Williams' mind was shattered during a World Series game, & not an NLCS game.

He's done, stick a fork in him.

When he closees his eyes, he sees Pooholes. Even Xavier Nady becomes pooholes before his very eyes. It's like a scene from THE WATERBOY. :D

Tell us how great the pitch was ... for like, ANOTHER WHOLE WEEK! :p

OK, now it's time for YOU to "shoot your mouth off" to every person that disagrees with you.

My God. Go get one of the best pitchers in the league, and they will make the pitching staff better!

And I heard the Padres and Marlins and Indians are just DYING to give those dudes away.

No, I really only respond like that to you. Most people that disagree actually do so while attempting to use logic and facts and evidence, instead of just blanket psychological babble and talking out of your ass.

Since you last ran your mouth: 5.1 IP, 2 hits, 1 run, seven strikeouts, five saves in six appearances. Yup, stick a fork in him. This team can't use that. They need more Trever Miller and Dave Borkowski.

You've really redefined the word clueless -- I'll give you credit for that.

Hey Wiseguy, Borkowski & "the other moustached guy" suck too.

You just shouldn't swing from Lidges sack so hard, Tarzana.

    He's NOT so good.

Funny, statistical evidence says he's been pretty good, and essentially dominant since April 20. And since I try and stick by, you know, what actually happens -- i.e. not just my biases, like certain other people.

I'll go a step further. Lidge experimented with a cut fastball (you know, after all the whiners said he had to add a third pitch) the first three weeks of the season. It didn't work. After the Fielder home run in Milwaukee on April 20, he went back to his regular routine.

    Since then, in 49.1 innings:
    2.37 ERA, 12 saves, 69 strikeouts, 13 walks, .193 BAA, .619 OPS against

Yeah, he's seeing Pujols all the time. Having to use actual evidence and facts is a b****, isn't it?

Remember last week, Clap, when you woke up at the break of dawn to read my opinions about the weekend wins? & you shot yer yap off again about how "Ohhh ohhh look at me, the Astros are closer to first place than last week, & oooh, I'm a effing FOOL! Lidge ROCKS!"

    ???

    Remember?

Well here we are ... a week later, & one GIGANTIC blown Lidge save later, & to the Pirates ... & we's scraping the cellar. Farther out than two weeks ago! & here you & I are ... still saying he said (ME) & she said (you.)

    Screw you, LIDGE SUCKS!

Sign Wickman. At least he could flick you off with his stub finger.

Boy, we're getting even better. Now, instead of evidence, we're resorting to calling people females? Is this sixth grade?

Funny thing... what made this save last night GIGANTIC? What made it different than, say, the 5-for-5 he'd been in the last week-and-a-half? Oh, I see. Your bias.

And no, the Astros are actually closer to first place than they were two weeks ago (they were 10.5 out then). But don't let facts stand in the way of your incoherent, illogical rantings. You never have before.

Yeah, LIDGE SUCKS! Those numbers I posted above... garbage. If a closer gives up ONE run at any time, DUMP HIS ASS! He's GARBAGE! Ruined!!!!! The best pitchers all have a 0.00 ERA!!!!!

Haha...As a Pirates fan it wouldn't be a stretch to argue that 8-2 against the Astros is pretty pathetic. ;)

    BAH!

Didn't say to totally dump him, but seeing that we could have had a few "semi-good" players (be they minor league, or whatever) for him once upon a long time, it would've/could've/should've been nice!

    Too late now!

Two years removed from the WS, & we may finish in last place.

    gross

Who do we have in our farm system that's going to plug a hole quickly, Clap?

    Didn't think so.

We are holding on to a MENTAL-CASE, just for the sake of holding on to a mental-case. All because of pride. He'll rebound. Sure he will!

Look around you, Clap ... teams trade relief pitchers like you trade coins & stamps with your best friend.

It's sad that people think like you ... Like Timmy P.

AKA - The guy YOU make FAT JOKES about on this here board, ya hypocritic sixth-grader fool.

"Oooooooh, don't make fun of women, make fun of fat people.

When did I make a fat joke about him? Please show me. You're beyond clueless -- I'm one of the main people on the bandwagon against using those kinds of idiotic jokes that have no relevance to anything.

By the way, I don't think you get it. The Astros aren't holding onto Lidge because they're hoping he'll rebound. They're holding onto him because he has rebounded. His numbers since April 20 are among the elite relievers in the game. There's no will to it -- he already has. And the entire world knows it and has seen it except for a few nutcases blinded by hatred and bias such as yourself.

    & people enjoy my rantings.

I speak with the people, & for the people. & m not under my desk in a fetal position after the "Lidge-Haters" emerge.

You're a mean person, who gets his jollies throwing non-relevant stats at people who just don't give a crap.

You may get an "A" in data-analysis, but you get an "F" here, my friend. The REAL WORLD.

You did that little tag-line "Oh yeah, Purpura's fat" the other day.

    DON'T deny it, Clap!

    1.) What stats are relevant?

2.) Who made you the judge of "the REAL WORLD" and who made you the speaker "for the people"?

I'm a HUGE Lidge fan too, but YOU make it so easy to hate him.

I've been rooting for him since he was in the QUALLS position ... & dude, ya just have to know when to say when.

He's not worth it anymore. I don't care if he closes the next 10 games! Unless he sees a shrink ( as I advise you to do) he's just not worth it.

I'm in the "good picther-needs a change of scenery" school of thought.

But that doesn't mean wait until he's in a Jason Lane in pitchers clothing, scenerio.

    CASH IN!

Why does a reliever that's been one of the best in all of baseball for most of this season need to "see a shrink" or get a change of scenery? What isn't worth it -- having one of the better relievers in the game?
