Well that line drive to Valverde's head might not have cost us last night's game but it looks like it's going to cost us this game
Woooooooooooow!!!!!!!! Boy, did we need that game with Hamels pitching tomorrow. No worse than a split now.
From the live game blog on chron.com: Fans are leaving? It's a one-run game... I can't for the life of me understand why so many people are heading for the exits. It's a 4-3 game in the top of the ninth and your closer is NOT IN THE GAME. Pedro Feliz spared Doug Brocail's face and hit a single to right instead, and Chris Coste looks really, really eager to drive him in. He was being pretty impatient, but ended up lining a single to center. Feliz only made it to second on the play. Again, I cannot understand why people started leaving. Two on, no outs, closer not in the game. Followed by this: If you left early, you missed a great finish This was not a good night to be at MMP if you have any kind of anxiety-related disorder, or ulcers or high blood pressure. Hopefully you were one of the people who decided to leave before the end of the game, because you would've needed either a doctor or a boatload of perscription drugs to bring you back to earth after this finish. Pedro Feliz was tagged out at home for the game-ending out trying to score the game-tying run with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth. Fill-in closer Doug Brocail got himself out of one hell of a jam after putting the first two runners runners on base and subsequently loading them for Shane Victorino. Carlos Lee's [Erstad] throw from left field saved the game for the Astros, who are six games above .500 now.
Extra innings. The game is on WGN. Jason Bay just got under one or it would have been game over. Oh so close.
