yeah no kidding. didn't know much about this or the (release?) of chavez. but sounds good!

the FLA announcers were just saying that he's a catcher known much more for his hitting than his defense..so much so that DET tried him at 3B.

Mama always said it's good to score some runs. It's a household game.

... and I was just about to make a post on Ensberg's early-season defensive struggles. Sweet DP.

Wandy looks to have more life on his fastball... and if he can locate it wel, it will do wonder for his off-speed stuff (which is mediocre).

can anyone tell me why rookies make (and are allowed by announcers/fans/etc) "rookie mistakes" such as the one we just saw by uggla? I mean, have they not played baseball for 8+ years (likely more than that) ? Have they not been taught proper baserunning? Why does the fact that they're in the majors excuse them and allow them to periodically *forget* basics like not running to 3rd on a ball in front of you if the fielder fields the ball?

None of that should be allowed. Unless it's just nerves? But come on, nerves can be the reason for certain things--like hitting struggles. But brainfarts like baserunning errors (maybe not picking up the basecoach) and stuff...that CAN't be just nerves..

Wow, the long ball and the short one are working tonight. Nice bunt by Everette, and Wandy.

RBI Single by Berkman. BGO scores.

    6-1!!!

Lance out at 2nd, he got too greedy.

But man, this is great to see. Now this is a fun game to watch. Last night's was a nightmare. I like how Wilson hit the HR to the opposite field wrather than going in to the crawford boxes.

Lane, time to make your first hit of the season a rip for an RBI!

edit: or not. better not make this a yearly early slump
