Well the fish are coming to town and we suck.

    Pitching Probables:
    5-2 -- Penny (2-1,4.11) vs. Linebrink (0-1, 3.38)
    5-3 -- Justin Wayne (0-1, 6.75) vs. Redding (2-2, 3.29)
    5-4 -- Michael Tejera (0-0, 5.68) vs. Oswalt (2-3, 3.86)

Fearless Predicition- Xiki will have at least one post in this thread complaining about Jimy Williams

The Marlins are stolen base kings. Ausmus better be ready.

I'm going Saturday and Sunday, so we better win.

I predict a sweep by the good guys.

Astros who don't suck [or Astros who are part of the solution]:

    Jeff Bagwell
    Jeff Kent
Richard Hidalgo [who on earth would've thought I could be writing that a month into the season?]
    Brad Lidge
    Tim Redding

Astros who suck [or Astros who are part of the problem]:

    Craig Biggio
    Lance Berkman
    Brad Ausmus
    Billy Wagner
    Wade Miller
    Jeriome Robertson

    - we need a real leadoff hitter/centerfielder
    - we need Lance Berkman to start playing like Lance Berkman
    - we need Brad Ausmus to hit worth a crap
    - we need to trade Billy Wagner for something good and let Dotel be our closer
    - we need Wade Miller to stop sucking
    - we need to hope Saarloos can pitch better than Robertson has

Berkman may have turned the corner last night.

I agree with most of that Although do you realize that Biggio has a fielding % of 1.000 and has more total chances than Hidalgo and Berkman. So I think he has surprisingly been pretty decent in CF. However he hasn't hit real well and we do need a better leadoff guy.

    man, I hope so.

Berkman has become, without question, my favorite Astro.

    Pound is the man.

Biggio, on the other hand, spares me to death.

is there anyone who doesn't think Brian Hunter could hit better than .233, play better defense in centerfield, and be more of a baserunning threat than Biggio? or Jason Lane? or anyone?

loyalty starts are for crap unless you've coached the Rockets to 2 championships, in my opinion.

I didn't know that. that's a good stat to see.

my problem isn't really with his defense, though.

I just hate having to rely on him for such a crucial role as leadoff hitter. I'm not baseball expert, but I have a pretty firm conviction that, if the Astros had a kick-A leadoff guy who was constantly setting the table, our whole mojo would work much better.

I think, if there was one change that could be made that would fix the Astros, that'd be the change.

Charlie Polio one day last year asked, "can you think of a more overrated statistic in all of sports than feilding percentage?" For about three days I thought about it, I couldn't think of one. In the immortal words of Forest Gump, "that's all I have to say about that."

Chievous Minniefield, I totally agree on Billy Wagner. He's the one player of value that we can afford to trade. Do it now, please, and get either a legitimate defensive centerfielder or a shortstop, or a third baseman, or a, ahh forget it.

That wasn't an error on Biggio last night?

Not listed in the boxscore. I didn't see the play but heard them talking about it. AS for Biggio I think he would be serviceable further down the lineup. What they need to consider doing is finding a SS that could lead-off. In limited playing time Hunter is hitting .231 with an OB% of .222 so I am not so sure he would be the answer.

that was horrible last night. I thought he was giong to catch it not let it go right over him. I guess that is what happens when you are inexperienced in that position. ugh...that doesnt sound right..

I hope the astros can win this series, we really suck and are in bad need of a win in a series. Man...I cant believe the Rangers have a better record...:(

I thought it was Jones in the CF corner by the bullpen. But maybe it was Chipper.

It was Chipper, another infeilder playing out of position. But in his defense, it looked like it was going in the Crawford Boxes.

alright, astros have a good 5th inning. it is now 4-3 astros who have come back and taken the lead since being down 3-0.

Chen is pitching so I have no idea what is giong to happen. Hopefully he wont screw us....he just walked a guy.

    7th inning, 4-3 astros

4-3 Astros.. Wagner is able to save this one...

The win keeps them 4.5 back in the central. They should look to reach .500 first.
