I can understand keeping 1 worthless hitter because of defense but having both of them at the bottom of the order seems to really hurt the Stros especially in late innings of close games. I can't keep track of how many times Everett and Ausmus seem to kill a rally.
I have no idea how to look this up, but I'm guessing the top of the order (excluding Berkman) has killed (or failed to start) a lot of rallies as well. We need to quit acting like the Astros problems are due to Ausmus and Everett alone. They're not.
You're right. .237 and .241 batting averages are nothing to sneeze at. I guess I was getting carried away in my frustration. With averages that low, they are bound to get a hit soon. I'm sure over their careers their averages are much better.
andy pettite this doesn't look good. last time garner brought in a starter in xtra innings....oswalt....pujols....goodnight
Well, this is interesting. Albers is obviously not available, but Borkowski and Lidge should be. Not sure why Bork isn't in, but this tells me Lidge is a part of some type of trade discussion. You often don't play those guys to avoid them getting hurt.
