So why doesn't Okert pitch the 8th so Sousa pitches the 9th?

If Sousa comes in the 8th, you're pretty much guaranteeing having to use Hader in what is likely a non save situation.

Okert threw a whopping 6 pitches last inning.

What the hell do i know.

Baltimore DFA'd him for a reason he throws hard, but with ZERO movement on his FB...so guys barrel it up and it goes a long way and hard.

It hit him square in the side of the ribs on a high 80s changeup. He finished the ab.

    Oh well.

    All that bullshit didn't work.

Nice going Joe pulling Okert after just 6 pitches.

    Now you burnt Sousa.

    Be better.

Well that sucks. I would have let Sousa try and get that last out instead of wasting Hader.

Sousa is probably the last guy, coming off injury, that you want to over-extend.

Not sure this version of the bullpen has a true multi-inning guy… obviously masked by this team having great starters, a great back end of bullpen, and playing a lot of close games.

Javier probably fills that role to ease him back in, if no other injuries.
