No doubt about it. There's absolutely zero reason to let Ausmus bat with a runner on base and under two outs. None. Put the bunt down and get out of there.

I hate Ausmus. Yeah, ok, "he's a great catcher, calls a great game" but he is so God awful in hitting situations that he totally offsets his ability to call a game. Hell, he doesn't even throw well anymore. Major weak link in the lineup.

Guys, I hate to say it, but this loss, should it happen (shutout against the Cubs, double digit LOB, inexcusable lack of execution with RISP) is very similar to the one in early July against Sean Marshall that sent us in a tailspin for three weeks. Uncanny similarity.
