all of this is making me even more of a lidge fan than i was before. plus the fact he was super nice to me and my wife when we met him at the baseball dinner this last winter.

It's funny that Weathers completed two saves in a row against us last week.

Well, Lidge still makes me very uncomfortable. I just about crap my pants every time he does that crouch thing of his. Last night, BOTH times he did it I went awwwwwwwwww ****!

    But we won. :)

And we are going to win again tonight. GO STROS!

yea the crouch thing scares the crap out of me too, its when he knows the ball just got pounded...he knew that the balls rodriguez and pew-jolls hit wouldve been dingers almost anywhere else

but they were outs and ill take em...brownie said last night that a closers era isnt that important as long as hes shutting the door, i guess i agree with him but lidge is surely making us sweat

i still have faith in him and the rest of the boys...lets hope andy straightens himself out tonight, i predict a perfect game with 27 k's and berkman and bensberg are gonna hit 14 homers between them, all of them off that cy young thief (roger shouldve won it last year)

I've never met Wild Thing II, but he does seem like a nice guy. Still, I can't watch him.

man, this guy is NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING like Mitch Williams. Not even in the same category.

Lidge is leading the league in saves right now. mitch went from 43 saves in 93..to 6 the next season.

You can't honestly throw around Lidge's save stat as being impressive. He has been anything but. If he continues like this, the "league leading saves" stat will soon vanish. I hope Garner is starting to look into other possibilities.

i'm not saying they look good. but i'm saying he's getting the job done. and i'm saying that's a very stark contrast from mitch williams. williams never got 10 more saves in his entire career after the joe carter HR.

I wasn't really referring to Mitch, just really concerned about Lidge. A lot of people assume he'll be fine -- I'm starting to disagree. It seems like he always comes in with a 2-3 run lead and gives up 1-2 runs and gets the save. Garner had Qualls warming up last night if Lidge gave up another run. I wouldn't mind seeing how well Chad handles the pressure.

Preston K. with another two strikouts. I was getting a little worried there for a second after his strikeoutless performance against Milwaukee, but it's good to see his back on track...

He blurted that out during an interview after a playoff game last year. I don't remember the game though.

i think he'll be fine. it's been a control issue. and it's gotten better over the last few times out. his slider still had fat albert looking stupid last night, particularly on that first pitch.

If I ever met Brad Lidge, and I didnt' have my parents or my stepson with me, I would purposely ask him to tell me I'm ****ing huge, or that that lamppost is ****ing huge, basically say it to me referring to anything or anyone in the room....just because I think it would be awesome.

Brad Lidge will never be the same until that Pujols ball drops.
