If you think that run production can come from only 2 spots, you don't know baseball. At the minimum, the 4 corner spots have to produce. And Scott is currently sucking it up at a premiere corner position. God knows, he's not in the lineup for his defense.
We need production up and down the lineup, obviously. But right now, I could care less what Scott is doing, when Berkman is having a month-long slump and Lee has been up and down. If those two can get it going like they should, it might ease the pressure off others a little bit.
What has happened to my boy Luke? He goes through a slump every year then hammers the ball.....OK, time to get a chicken and make a sacrifice. DD
Plus, I may be mistaken, but I don't think Berkman has played RF since the '05 season. So it's probably not in the team's best interests defensively to make a move like that during the season.
I dunno, but at what point do you have to consider this team's struggles at the plate a biproduct of your hitting coach's effectiveness...or your manager's?
The weird thing is that it is our best hitters that are slumping...our pitching has been at least OK. DD
Fock me...I'm glad hunter got the call, but again, nothing...all those men left on base is pathetic...Luckily, its early and our division is weak...
I doubt the hitting coach had anything to do with Lance's success last year, or struggles this year... same goes for Lee. The hitting coach is there for guys like Adam Everett... people who need to constantly change their approach because they're never going to be a dominant presence at the plate.
we're getting quality starts pretty consistently. the hitters need to find themselves. berkman is on a pace to knock in about 60 runs this season. woo hoo.
