Been meaning to ask this here but didn't want to start a new thread....when I was there at MMP for the Saturday night game against the Rockies, the team took the field to "When the Man Comes Around" by Johnny Cash. So subtle..so freaking perfect. I hope like hell this is happening every single night and that it's a new tradition....anyone else notice it anytime they've been out to the park?

Yeah but I liked the old-school organ player on Tuesday night more.

Not sure why I thought that. I am pretty sure I heard it at some point a number of years ago, but I just googled it and it is certainly not him (although being a fat guy in overalls now wouldn't preclude him :) ).

"He is still alive. Sadly, I don't think his wife is. He was talking about his life and other stuff to Tom Franklin on the post game show on 790 AM. He said he doesn't make it out to games because Drayton and hiscrew won't let him cheer loudly and be "disruptive" at Minute Maid Park because he'd rather have bored businesspeople chatting on their cell phones instead of animated and excited fans. It's a shame, but yeah, he's still around."

    Old story from 1995 :

I remember being a kid and seeing Batty Bob in the 80's in a home-made bat costume. As my dad was driving us home after the game I saw him walking down the shoulder of 610 with the costume under his arm. It kind of freaked me out.

Does anyone have a picture of Batty Bob? Google is failing right now.
