Houston has definitely come a long way, and the postseason appearances and successes of the team over the past decade, the faces of the franchise staying pretty consistent, and then Clemens and Pettite returning have all helped. Plus I think baseball is the most famly-friendly of any sport, because tickets are so cheap and you can enjoy a nice summer day/night at the ballpark munching down on a hot dog, a REALL ballpark hot dog. Can't get much better than that. So I think the popularity will sustain to an extent, but remember Houston is a fairweather town, once (hopefully not) the team slips the fans won't be as numbered. But I imagine they'll always do better than the Rockets (when they were rebuilding...and even now).
i was gonna make a thread about this but i am not aloud to!! So o well -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://rapidshare.de/files/22837105/...p_350.wmv.html thats lance head hunting
This is the value of a ballpark above all other venues for sports. They are an attraction in and of themselves. They draw visitors from the around the state on summer weekends. When located downtown, it's just easy to catch the game after work. And the cost to go is still so low compared to the other sports.
Dude, this is from the last series. Please see the unofficial thread below to talk about the current series. Hint: We are playing the Cubs.
