    It works both ways though.

A lineup with more lefties can give more trouble to right handed pitchers.

I don't think I've ever seen a worse Braves pitching staff... although we didn't have to see Smoltzie (and we were shut down by their only other good pitcher in Hudson).

Can we save some of these runs for later games?

Munson just bought himself some more 1B platoon time when Lance/Lamb needs some extra rest. He's a Garner-favorite... was handpicked to be the backup catcher this year based on Gar's years in Detroit.

I'm in and out doing shrub trimming.

It was 9 to whatever....now its 14 to whatever. Muson homered twice.

    HOLY COW!

It's hard to find what's wrong with our offense on days like this. ;)

Why was Burke pulled? Did he get reinjured?

I second that. Jeez, Leo Mazzone left at the right time.

He got hit by a pitch earlier on the arm. Maybe they took him out as a precaution?

Ramirez hit him with a pitch in the elbow... he stayed in the game initially, but after the Stros blew it open, it probably was better to ice that thing down and try and minimize the swelling... I don't think it will be serious (and it better not be, because CB is a big reason for this mini-offensive resurgence)

Deshaises said that Burke's new nickname should be "day to day".

Or maybe Roger McDowell has even less talent as a pitching coach, than he did as a major league pitcher.

When's the last time the team had a breakout game like this? What fun this is!

Is Sampson still in-line to pitch in the Chicago series, or is the team skipping him because of the off-day. Kinda would have liked to see what he could do against a team he just shutout last week, as opposed to Taylor (who has yet to look good when he faces a team the second time).

Sampson is in the pen now. Pettite on Tuesday, Oswalt on Wednesday, Nieve on Thursday, Buchoutlz on Friday, and Wandy on Saturday.

Just got back from the game and a llittle post game hanging out. That was fun to watch. Reminded me of 1998.

Except that in 98, you couldn't dream of getting a packed house of 40,000 people for a game in early June. (let alone some post game "hanging out" in Downtown Houston).

Baseball sure has come a long way here since MMP opened up.

Whoda ever thunk H-Town would be a Baseball - Town? Will it sustain? Roger's return certainly boosts the possibility.

History seems to imply Good Guys will need a new and different addition in the off season, or next summer to sustain the momentum, short of another October run (which seems, as every year, unlikely...and every year becomes possible, even done!).
