Phil Maton won't be pitching the 8th inning in the playoffs.

It will more than likely be

Stanek, Pressley, Montero, Neris, or Hunter Brown(expectation is he gets brought up as a reliever this year)

Yankees aren't going to pull this in the playoffs. Too many strikeouts etc.

 

I thought Maton was the wrong call here. His stuff plays better for the Yanks.

 

I can also see one more late inning arm added at the deadline. If there is a good rental/1.5 yr guy they can flip, say, Chas or Taylor Jones for, I can see that. Perhaps Daniel Bard (FA after this year) can be this year's Graveman?

 

Abreu should of been out there instead of Maton in that inning. Time to make Holmes pay.
