    All I know is that

I hear nothing but positives about the hitting coaches from anyone associated with professional baseball.

Every bit of negativity comes from fans and only fans.

Sounds like an invented issue to me.

Not sure I want to overpay for Robert. He would fit in with the Astros right now though with how he’s performed so far this season.

Today was just a simple case of the Altuve leadoff HR jinx.

we all knew what would happen

MLB is unlike any other sport.

Coaches and managers have almost no impact compared to NFL, NBA, and other sports leagues.

Because of this, changing them almost 100% of the time only impacts the mental and emotional part of the game.

A hitter is not going to change ANYTHING in the box because of a new coach.

Coaches show video and communicate about pitchers, parks, etc that a hitter is likely to see in the near future.

They will mention a mechanical flaw if they see one, but these players are so in tuned that they also see it themselves.

As Josh Reddick said, at this point the hitting coaches are basically " cheerleaders"

If a hitting coach is fired then he is a scapegoat and this team has bigger problems than any of us realize.

Robert is wasted until he is off the White Sox.

You can argue that makes him unprofessional and you don't want him. I get that, but being on that team has to just suck the life out of you.

It also sucks that they are not lowering his price because of this.

Bottom line, he is one of the 5-10 most talented players in MLB, still young, and plays a position the Astros desperately need help at.

If it's me, I roll the dice and make them an offer they can't refuse before the Mets, Phillies, or someone else does.

I think if he gets out of Chicago he becomes a star.

Altuve should be the primary DH. Yordan has a good arm and has a track record of hitting better when playing LF versus as a DH. Dude's 27 years old we're already regulating him as the primary DH. It's been 4 years since his knee surgeries. Do they really think he's going to be that injury prone if he plays LF most games and runs after a few balls each game.

A real job sucks the life out of you, not playing OF for the White Sox.

    Just sayin’

I'm not saying it's good or right.

    I'm just saying it is.

If they are just basiclly "cheerleaders" at this point (a position I don't really agree with). Then there should not be any issue with letting one or more of them go. What it does do is show the players that their actions, or lack there of have, consequences. Maybe it also takes another enabler out of the locker room. So maybe we only need one cheerleader.

Didn’t the rangers and Yankees each fire their hitting coaches in the last few years leading to better results? JD Martinez left the astros and suddenly learned to hit (not sure if Cintron was here yet or not). Bregman is actually hitting to start the season as is Tucker. I just have a hard time buying into Reddick’s nonsense when he himself was a perennial mediocre hitter (worse when with the Astros). Now Walker is suddenly having a slow horrid start? Overreaction and small sample size yes but we were having these discussions constantly all of last season and into the playoffs

Josh Reddick was the one who said that. I was just quoting him.

No offense, and I don't know you, but if I had to choose, I would take his opinion over yours.

Reddicks best season ever was an ops plus of 130 with the Astros before he got old.
