Good point. We haven't played any bad teams yet. Angels are next. We'll see if Trout single-handedly destroys us.
Us facing bad teams doesnt hide the fact that our starting pitching has been **** and our situational hitting has been awful. We need to trade for a starter ASAP. We cant rely on career relievers and journeymen.
Well, bad teams don't necessarily take advantage of your deficiencies like good teams. We have had an extremely difficult schedule if you go look at it. We haven't even played one "bad" non-division opponent or the worst division opponent yet.
If Springer would have gotten on base Altuve would have struck out anyways. He's slumping something bad and I hate it.
This offense is just in a bad slump. They watch pitches right down the middle. Get too many 1 pitch outs. Leaving so many on base. The usual suspects plus others are struggling. Of course they went on to collect a 10 game winning streak last time things felt hopeless
Our record is pretty solid despite a tough schedule and some mediocre performances. We’ll play better and the schedule will ease up as well. We’ll almost definitely need to make a move at some point but it’s not panic time.
Astros played one of the hardest starts to a season I can remember. Now hopefully it's time to fatten up on some patsies for a few weeks.
the only saving grace is the fact that we've played an ungodly difficult opening stretch to start the season - 18-13 versus all playoff contenders is pretty solid all things considered. i think they said we haven't played a single team that was below .500 when we played them which is incredible. we certainly have some holes to address but playing nearly .600 ball through this kind of schedule is no reason to freak out. let's hope we fatten up some once we face lesser competition.
