Hopefully the bats can give Lance enough support to where he can take us 7 strong without pressure. The bully needs some serious rest.
Possible. But his fastball with a plus curve has people raving. A couple bad outings won't hurt his stock too bad. Martes, Fisher, a few other prospects should be able to get anyone we really want. BUT maybe he becomes great and doesn't get dealt. Who knows.
Considering 80% of our intended starting rotation is on the shelf with the only one not pitching tonight. Yea. Important win
Even the Rangers aren't in a must-win situation right now, albeit they're a ****-ton closer to it than us. Nothing about this game is must-win.
It is for momentum and getting back on track. Not a must win mathematically but a must win nonetheless. Baseball stuff.
If you're worried about momentum in the beginning of June, then you're doing it wrong. All the Astros should be worried about is putting together good ABs, trying to get a starting pitcher past the 5th inning, and not putting the bullpen in an early grave. Everything else will follow.
No we need to salvage the series. We need to win while we have a healthy proven starter on the mound. McCullers needs to return to form, that is pretty big for us. This is an important game for several reasons. Of course everyone here understands that it isn't a mathematical must win. There are other mus wins though. I feel like this one is one of those pivotal games within a season. I feel like good things happen going forward if we step up and get this one. Targets on our backs now. We will get a lot of A games from teams.
Game at a time. These guys play the game to win. Idk where people get this inclination that "it's not a must-win" or "it's a must win". It's a game they will try to go out and win. Next man up.
Not to mention neither McCullers nor Keuchel will pitch again for 4 games. It will be BOR guys, some of whom making their 2nd/3rd starts. A win tonight is huge and would stop a potentially long losing streak.
Point is you play to win the game, none of these guys go out there and are like "oh, we have our #4 or #5 out there, L." They do what they can... This isn't the post-season. The season isn't hinging on a loss to the Royals, etc.
Your take on this subject is interesting considering you just proclaimed one bad outing from Martes as being "trade-value killing".
you do realize calling this game a must win means losing it will ruin the season? I think you are confusing must win with really wanting to win.
