the ninja has really been swinging the bat well lately. With Berkman coming around and the Roger fiasco over, maybe these guys will settle in and start playing some good ball.
And you didn't believe me when I said Garner would sac bunt with everybody except Berkman and Lee. Last time, I had no problem with arguing that Ensberg should have sac bunted... but I still don't bunt with Lee. Also, your argument that Garner NEVER sac bunts late in games is now deader than dead... which is not suprising since it was a bunch of BS in the first place.
Wheeler always looks HORRIBLE to the first batter he faces... Garner may want to consider warming him up a little more (or Wheeler may need to consider focusing more on his warm up tosses off the real mound). There was no excuse to walk Dunn... as DD says, unprofessional.
lololol. i'm trusting that whole post is sarcasm....right? if not, that's pretty much the weakest attempt at not just admitting you're wrong that i've ever heard.
You said Garner never bunts late in games... after everybody proved you wrong, and how you'd never want to bunt with Carlos Lee, you went into hiding. After multiple games of late-inning sac bunts (especially the Biggio grand slam game against Milwaukee), and people asking you to "share your insight" on those, there is no response. When I say earlier that I could see Garner sacraficing with Ensberg, you respond with nothing but doubt and short-sightedness. Now that its actually happened, you come on here and spout more meaningless drivel... give it up.
man, i still gotta trust that that post was also intended as pure sarcasm, but i'll bite. not sure if you understand this, but that was morgan ensberg's first sacrifice bunt since 2004. see, now what that does is not only prove my point that he doesnt sacrifice with him, but i pulls my stinkhole over you and everybody else's mouths that said otherwise, and drops a steaming pile of deuce straight down your throats. garner finally sac bunting after 3 years with ensberg means one of 2 things: either that was ensberg's first bunting situation in the past 500 games (not to mention this wasnt even one of the no-brainer runner on 2nd no outs bunt situations that i'm complaining about in the first place), or, #2, that garner has finally seen the light and learned that ensberg, lee, berkman, or lane, and anybody else is allowed to bunt if the situation calls for it. this was clearly garner proving that what i've said all along is correct. i dont expect you to swallow your pride and admit it.
But I'm the one who said he SHOULD bunt with Ensberg... and circumstances change when you have a Carlos Lee on this team, and force Ensberg to bat 2nd. Also, it was his first SUCCESSFUL sac bunt since 2004... it says nothing about attempted sac bunts (hell, I can already recall one attempted sac that Ensberg blew... I'm pretty sure that's not the only one). Even then, circumstances change when you have Lee/Scott as bigger RBI guys and Ensberg is no longer asked to do that. He's no longer batting in the 5 hole, where he was much of his career. If you're willing to bat him 2nd, you have to ask him to do all the things a #2 hitter should do... which is why I originally said Garner would sac bunt with Ensberg this year if the situation presented itself. And your original point that Garner never attempts sacrafices late in games was already refuted... time and time again. Hell, you're still arguing about it even after it happens, when people said it would happen.
Huge game. Nice to start the series with a win. Now lets see if they can score some runs two nights in a row.
give up already man. i said he doesnt bunt with the aforementioned players, and it was never refuted, not even once, because he never did bunt with any of them, period. and what does "people said it would happen" mean? or prove? if they "said it would happen" in 2004, i guess they were right, right? i mean, he finally let him lay one down tonight. get over yourself, nicky. swallow your pride. i know how much it hurts you guys when you realize rocketfat is right, but you should be used to it by now. i'm done. feel free to continue to try to discredit me though.
excellent question. i mean, there's no room for debate or criticism in these things, right? they are just for praising your beloved astros who can do no wrong, right, blind homer? better question is, why do you?
You're an idiot... his last SUCCESSFUL sac bunt was in 2004... does not mean he's never tried to lay down a bunt in a late game. And I said Garner would attempt sacs with Ensberg the last time we had this discussion. In fact, I remember an attempted sac by Ensberg THIS YEAR that he didn't come through on (fouls off the first two pitches, sacrafice is taken off). Find me the stats that talk about attempted sac bunts, and we'll talk.
one last attempt....cant help myself.... yes nick. 2004 was ensberg's last successful attempt. now, i want you to attempt some common sense here...i know you have it somewhere in you. if ensberg's last successful attempt was 3 seasons ago (when jimy williams was coaching, mind you), whose argument does that strengthen, mine or yours?
Considering Garner had no hesitation doing it tonight, in a textbook situation, and that he's already attempted at least one sac THIS year... its mine.
