I see Lee playing other positions along with catcher... plus there's more a surplus in the OF, and easier to convert someone to the OF than to C if anything goes awry.

One more thing... We let go of McCann because he was washed at 34. Maldy is 36.

Astros "let go" of McCann because he wanted to go back to the Braves on a token contract for his last year before retiring as a Brave.

Lee will be in more demand than any other minor leaguer than Gilbert or Arrighetti. Lee and Gordon can help get you help this year and I think you can add guys like Corona , Leon to the list. I just hope they don't have to trade Gilbert, but I would for a TOR guy or for Kenny Gomez from what I've read. But you guys know more about the prospects as I ever will. I frankly have gotten to the point of the Stros will have had a top 5 ROY candidate forever, so you would think these GM's would like the Stros top prospects a lot more than the talking heads do, but hey who knows. I've got to give Click credit where credit is due, There's talent in the minors and being without 1-2 rd draft picks for 2 years Click left the minor league system in better shape than anybody could have expected.

To anyone trying to keep Lee.. have you seen Diaz? Especially when he plays in the field..

The most Lee can do for us this year is help us get a ToR pitcher or LH hitter.. I’m down to trade anyone not named Gilbert in the minors. I’m sure there are some pitchers and maybe Melton etc, but we have a lot of OF and catching is good for the future. We need pitching badly.
