I don't like the pinstripes, either.

My favorite is the all white jersey/pants with red hats they were on saturdays...honestly, because the red looks a little like orange to me.

like you, i did like the look in the 90's too. very clean. i have a navy blue batting practice jersey from that era that looks great.

I wouldn't say I liked the look, but I wouldn't mind some combination of that and what they have today. Like combine that design with more traditional Astro colors, which is what their black hats look like. To me those hats don't go with pinstripes and cursive lettering.

Also if you're going to wear red hats you need red batting helmets! Those are the rules.

I'm in a tiny minority that actually likes the pinstripes. I have to say, though, I loved the look in the '90s.

Just by going back and forth, I saw the pattern of how you related a team with its history. Its actually a different take than most guys I speak with. To me, previous years just have no impact on today besides the overall history of the club. As quickly as we fell off of being real contenders is to me how quickly other teams have seized the opportunity and made the most of it. Just because we went to WS simply has no effect on today's team. Us winning division crowns can't make up for us being a .500 team and under.

I see where you guys are coming from but playing our division rivals so often really gets boring to me especially in a 162 game season. Yea, it does have an impact on W-L for division and wild card but its like enough already when seeing the same team over and over. Some variety is good and the less I have to see Lee on the field the better (interleague road series).

The season may be regarded as the playoffs but I just don't see any team treating it as such or planning for it in that regard. That's why I hate short playoffs - NFL/MLB and truly enjoy the 2 month run of the NBA. Playoffs are really when teams show up and longer playoffs, by cutting into the 162 games, would work. To both you and Max's delight, MLB will cut into Interleague play to make this happen.

An NFL type of schedule could definitely work in the MLB. Would it be fair then to see the other teams of the NL Central take on the Rangers, Twins, Royals, Tigers, etc or being that these games impact division and wild card to have the entire NL somehow play these teams?

Just to jump in on this uniform talk, the 90s were ok. Really like our uniforms of today even the red and gray, all gray, etc. Pinstripes aren't bad, it just reminds of the Yankees who I hate. Just don't think an all red uni would work as we've seen that it isn't necessary to wear one color from top to bottom in reference to the awful sky blue Toronto Blue Jay uniform.

Agree it has no bearing on today. It's just that I rarely see or discuss things only in the context of 'today'. Probably because I'm an old fart.
