I would be content if the Astros just conceded these games to the Rangers and not even showed up to play. It's a complete waste of our time to even watch these games so...I don't. The Rangers own the Astros. We cannot even win one freaking game against them.

Who said I was surprised? I said it sucks. And it *does* suck. At least to me. If you don't mind losing to the Rangers, then bully for you.

    Correct! Also beside the point.

They had a couple good seasons in the mid-late 90s, too, if you'll recall. Then they went back to being, you know, the *Rangers*.

Thanks for airing your superiority. The Rangers are clearly the better team this year, but that's not what I was talking about.

Throughout their history, the Rangers have been largely irrelevant. Furthermore, there is no "rivalry" between this junior circuit upstart franchise and the Houston Astros. It is an absolute waste of six regular season games--even if the Astros win. I'd much rather see the Dodgers, or Braves, or Cardinals, or Mets, or Cubs. Hell, even the Reds.

That's why it sucks to lose to them--because the matchup is a big yawn, and because the Rangers have been largely a joke for the majority of their existence--regardless of how good they are this year.

But thanks again for assuming I have my head in the sand about the Rangers' current quality as a team and then assuming you're better than me.

And hey, they have Nolan Ryan calling the shots. Perhaps this time around they actually build something that will be good for a few years, rather than a blip (not a flash) in the pan before settling back into sub-mediocrity.

This team is playing like a 74-78 win team. There will be a few good times, but generally they'll lose series and give up some winnable games. They're just not very good. That said, they're still my team. Go Astros!

My commentary probably makes more sense in the context that I really have no use for interleague play. Not that I expect anyone to feel the way I do or agree with me, just clarifying.

Yeah, that kind of screwed up my prediction. I thought it was Oswalt today.

Backe did have a rhythm in AAA as a starter, not a reliever. There is a theory circulating that they ruined his rhythm by bringing him back to the club as a reliever, so perhaps they're seeing if he can get it back as a starter. Somehow, I doubt he will, though.

I kind of want him to fail, anyway. That way, we're more likely to bring up Bazardo and/or Norris.

Tejada has 3 walks this series after coming into the series with 6 walks on the season.

Home run against Backe already. I didn't even think it was possible to be as bad as he is.

Too bad they did put Backe in jail after that incident.

Seriously. Is this team still waiting for Backe to regain his 2005 NLCS form?

    BRING UP BAZARDO!!!!!!!!

Another shambolic night for the Astros defense.

Garbage fielding leading to extra runs for the 2nd consecutive night... it's not just Tejada's range that has declined rapidly.

Now that was some tremendous defense by Pence. Very nice catch and DP.

Pence is now 0-for-6 with 5 SOs and no BBs with the bases loaded this season.

Is the Yahoo ticker correct? Bases loaded, nobody out, & we got ONE stinking run & it was from a pass ball?

    SADSADSAD

    Fire this whole team.

I like how the Rangers are making the Astros wear the gray uniforms.

It's like how teams in the NFC wear white at home to eff the Cowboys.

Hunter's fine as long as the bases aren't loaded.
