it's the hitting, not the pitching, that is the problem. This just isn't a good lineup.

Man, that was quite the surprise when I checked the box score and saw Moehler threw a complete game. I had to do a double take :D

Man, we get right back to within 1 run, then Wandy goes into full "Road Wandy" mode for the 2nd game running. Wandy's fluke run to start the season is definitely over.

He did get away with one in his last start though, gave up 5 runs in the first inning which were wrongly (imo) changed to unearned runs later in the game, so the ERA should be higher.

    BACKE is BACK

And he already has an ERA of 18.00. Please crawl back under the Round Rock from whence you came Brandon.

There's a reason you aren't on the green side of rep points.

For the record though, Backe does and always will suck balls.

Ok, we need to get this game tonight and win a series for once. Get something positive going on, before we come home for a homestand where we can make some ground up.

    Let's go Hampy

Actually, they were unearned when they were scored. The live update on foxsports.com indicated as such.

I'm not saying the Backe is going to be the saving grace of the pitching staff. I am saying that you take a guy who has been a career starter that gets injured...have him be a starter on his rehab assignment...then throw him in the bullpen. That simply defies all baseball logic. Some guys are relievers and some are starters. You need to look no further than Chris Sampson to see that at work.

Backe is not very good. Cecil Cooper is AWFUL at managing a pitching staff.

The Astros are 14th out of 16 teams in runs scored per game, and 5th out of 16 in runs allowed per game. DoitDickau is correct, as usual.

Team ERA is 12th out of 16 teams.....
the Astros have, I believe, the 2nd most blown saves in the NL.
Runs scored is 14th out of 16 teams.....
Team BA is 3rd in the league and OPS is 9th.
How was DiD right and I wrong? If anything the truth is in between what we
    both said.
